Corduroy Tour

Starting and ending in the quaint town of Haliburton, the Corduroy Tour is an all-surfaced route that gives you insights into the road builders past. A corduroy road was an ingenious way of putting roads through swamps or wet areas and consisted of laying logs across the roadbed and covering it with coarse aggregate or stone. Most of today’s roads began this way… and in some places, the original corduroy still lies beneath the surface.
